"Fun story as always Stewart, some nice humour, good Supergirl action and Noonan's Café"
Thanks! Yes, I figured that Noonan's might have a café by now, too. Sort of a local version of Starbuck's
"Kara is in her office in the CatCo building on a Wednesday morning. She is in her normal week-day reporter mode, and is typing away on her desktop computer."
Do you write that in response to Kara not having a computer on her desk in the Episode 2 photos of the TV Show?."
To be honest, I didn't really have those particular photos in mind., I just figured that if Kara had her own office (as she does in my stories), she would of course have her own desktop computer (and a desk telephone).
"Some very simple chemistry this time, too:
2 Na (g) + Cl2 (g) ------> 2 NaCl (s)"
I have no idea what that means, perhaps you can translate for me from Chemistry to English"
It's a chemical equation for the formation of table salt (sodium chloride) from sodium and chlorine, the two elements of which it is composed.. The equations says that sodium (in the form of a gas or vapor) will combine with chlorine (a gas at room temperature) to form table salt (in the solid state).
Glad you liked the story
One of the chemistry teachers at my school (Forest Hill High) is actually planning to have her students read and comment on this story - since it serves (in her words) " as an example on how to incorporate chemistry and science into creative writing...I'd like them (her students) to do some creative writing.". Needless to say, I'm flattered!
(After all, I'm really very much an amateur fiction writer...)
