Whew, ok we knew this day would come and it's just best to pull the bandaid off. Supergirl will end her six-year run with a two-hour season finale. For logistics, the finale is separated into two episodes with two separate titles and separate synopses. A few things to note as we examine the finales. Glen Winter who directed the pilot of the show, returns to direct episode 619. Winter also has directed episodes of Stargirl. The final episode will feature the wedding for Kelly and Alex and as we've seen on the paparazzi sites, we get to welcome back series stars, Jeremy Jordan, Mehcad Brooks, and Melissa's husband Chris Wood! Here's the synopsis for "The Last Gauntlet":
THE PENULTIMATE EPISODE KICKS OFF THE TWO-HOUR FINALE FOR “SUPERGIRL” – In the penultimate buildup to the season finale, Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) and the super friends take drastic action after a loved one is kidnapped by Nyxly (Peta Sergeant) and Lex (guest star Jon Cryer). An unlikely ally steps in to help the team. The episode was directed by Glen Winter with story by J. Holtham and teleplay by Derek Simon & Jay Faerber (#619). Original airdate 11/9/2021.
Also, here is the series final synopsis for "Kara":
THE EPIC SERIES FINALE BRINGS BACK FAMILIAR FACES AND FEATURES A BEAUTIFUL WEDDING – In the epic series finale, Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) is joined by familiar faces from the past to help her stop Lex (guest star Jon Cryer) and Nyxly (Peta Sergeant) for good. Meanwhile, Alex (Chyler Leigh) and Kelly (Azie Tesfai) prepare to walk down the aisle. Mehcad Brooks, Jeremy Jordan and Chris Wood return for the series finale. The episode was directed by Jesse Warn with story by Robert Rovner & Jessica Queller and teleplay by Rob Wright & Derek Simon (#620). Original airdate 11/9/2021.

Quote: While it’s fun to imagine how things could happen, that’s why fanfic is a thing, it’s another thing to get upset and rage on the internet that what you wanted to happen didn’t. The writers do occasionally have good ideas and sometimes the writers wanted the same things but IRL logistics made it impossible. Letting go of some, note I said some not all, expectations instead of looking to nit pick everything can make watching more fun.
thanks
I always thought,"Finale" was blah title for the Smallville series finale. They did the same as Supergirl.Aired the final two episodes as the two hour series finale.Quite honestly,I thought the title should of been,"Superman."
Quote: The villain who reformed because of being inspired by Superman revealing his identity was The Toyman.
Lex's reaction is the best. He's sitting there fuming and The Joker keeps calling him to make fun of the fact he was duped all these years(around this time,it had been revealed that The Joker knew Bruce Wayne was Batman for years and was finally using that knowledge to tear apart Batman's life setting up "The Joker War" storyline)
