The history of the DC Universe is coming to Max, as the streaming service prepares to release Superpowered: The DC Story, a three-part documentary digging into the real world roots of DC.

Rosario Dawson narrates the documentary, which consists of "over 60" interviews with DC creators and actors from DC films, including Melissa Benoist, Greg Berlanti, Tim Burton, Mike Carlin, Lynda Carter, Henry Cavill, Kaley Cuoco, Gal Gadot, James Gunn, Patty Jenkins, Dwayne Johnson, Michael Keaton, Regina King, Zoë Kravitz, Jim Lee, Zachary Levi, Damon Lindelof, Tom Mankiewicz, Jason Momoa, Christopher Nolan, Robert Pattinson, Christopher Reeve, John Ridley, Margot Robbie, Bruce Timm, Michael E. Uslan, Mark Waid, and more.

Here's the trailer:

"Superpowered: The DC Story takes an unprecedented look at the enduring and influential legacy of DC, allowing fans to rediscover the universe of characters, as well as the iconic comic book company’s origins, its evolution and its nearly nine-decade cultural impact across every artistic medium," reads the official description of the documentary.

"Featuring a wealth of interviews with the industry’s most prolific creators and the actors who bring their iconic characters from the page to the screen, Superpowered: The DC Story reminds us that at the heart of DC are the comics – the four-color fantasies that forever spark the imagination and instill hope."

The documentary is separated into three episodes, each with a different theme that relates to the history of DC.

Episode One: The Hero's Journey focuses on the origins of Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman. Episode Two: Coming of Age deals with the rebirth of superhero comics in the Silver Age into their '90s heyday. Finally, Episode Three: A Better Tomorrow focuses on the characters and creators of Milestone Comics and the push to make superhero comics more inclusive and representative of the real world.

Superpowered: The DC Story starts streaming July 20 on Max.

Superpowered: The DC Story is now love on Max. All three parts. Each part is about an hour. Melissa's interview is archived from during the making of Season 6 but still cool.Other then Greg Berlanti, she's the only Arrowverse person who is included in interview comments. I didn't see any other Arrowverse actor talk but I only did a quick check. I'll watch the documentary fully over the next day or two.

You could be right. I think it's 50/50.She does have The Girl On The Bus which also produced by WB and is supposed to air on Max. So I can see her doing a new interview for something like this.

On the flip side, I will be happy with archival interviews too. Just thje fact she's included in anyway is cool. IMO
I agree it’s cool that Melissa’s included at all. From those listed she’s the only Arrowverse actor which is interesting. There might be something to what Stephen Amell said about the DCEU
“Those guys, the DCEU, they need to decide if they think that they’re better than television or if they want to participate,”.

It’s true that over the last decade the Arrowverse on small market CW succeeded in many of the things the DCEU movies failed at.

She does have reason to accommodate a reasonable request like an interview for this series from WB. Her production companies relationship and The Girls on the Bus are probably contractually separate but it would be smart of her to play nice when possible with WB. The name on the list that surprises me is Patty Jenkins even if it’s archival footage I figured with what happened WB wouldn’t want to highlight her.

I'm sure Melissa will do a bang up job. Does anyone know when "Girls on the bus" will be aired. I'm waiting over a freaking year for this show to start.

July 20,1969 "Oh My God." The Americans Are On The Moon."

Bye Bye Love: The Everly Brothers (an oldie but a goody)

We gotta get out of this place: The animals (popular 60's song in southeast asia)

I have a feeling it won’t be a new interview. Per TvLine
The docuseries features more than 60 new and archival interviews with actors and execs alike, including new DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn, Supergirl‘s Melissa Benoist, Arrowverse sire Greg Berlanti, Harley Quinn‘s Kaley Cuoco, erstwhile Wonder Woman Lynda Carter. and Watchmen‘s Regina King and Damon Lindelof.
I hope I’m wrong and it’s a new interview.
